With the departure of Pascal Haegeli to Switzerland for a position at the WSL-Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF, the Canadian avalanche safety community has an urgent need to maintain and further develop applied avalanche research capacity in Canada. To address this community need in the short-term, SARP invites applications for a 2.5-year PostDoc position in applied avalanche safety research. For the long term, the community aims to secure another academic professor position in avalanche risk management within the next 2 years.
This PostDoc position represents a unique opportunity for a PhD graduate to work with the Canadian avalanche safety community and apply their existing research skills in the Canadian context. Click here for full details on the position.
Applications will be considered until the position is filled, with preference being given to applications received by February 1, 2026. Any questions about this position and the application process should be directed to Pascal Haegeli.
